This machine allows anyone to work for minimum wage for as long as they like. Turning the crank on the side releases one penny every 4.97 seconds, for a total of $7.25 per hour. This corresponds to minimum wage for a person in New York. This piece is brilliant on multiple levels, particularly as social commentary. Without a doubt, most people who started operating the machine for fun would quickly grow disheartened and stop when realizing just how little theyâre earning by turning this mindless crank. A person would then conceivably realize that this is what nearly two million people in the United States do every dayâŚat much harder jobs than turning a crank. This turns the piece into a simple, yet effective argument for raising the minimum wage.

So judge me if you must but I just watched the most emotional episode of glee I’ve ever and probably will ever witness and it made me think about the things that matter most and since this is already a run on sentence and nothing is official til it’s on the Internet I’m saying them now on here.
My family is my whole world, it took me a long time to realize that but they’re perfectly imperfect as am I and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I am ashamed and proud all at once of the mistakes I’ve made, I wish I could apologize for them to the people they hurt if they did but I don’t wish I could take them back because they taught never to make those mistakes again.
And lastly I want to say how much my second family means to me, that is my chosen family. As in the people I chose to love and share life with in middle and high school and college and after when my immediate blood family wasn’t there or I just didn’t know they were. To you I say thank you, to all the teachers, acquaintances, friends, animals, close friends, tumblr friends (who I’ve never met or spoken to but feel a connection to and love anyway), sisterwives, boyfriends, husbands, gay friends, girlfriends, wives, and random people who did something that restored my faith in humanity if only for a moment.
THANK YOU MR. UNIVERSE for giving me these things. You give me hope and reasons to live every single other than the simple fact that I can and that’s awesome.
But mostly thank you for tv, film, and books because I’m only reminded of these feels when moved by something powerful I watch or read. #unfortunatelyaccurate
